Syrano
Syrano is a growing startup that combines human expertise with generative AI to help brands create content more efficiently while maintaining their unique voice. I was commissioned to develop a custom illustration system and brand pattern that supported the company's visual identity and guided users through the website's onboarding flow.
The brand draws inspiration from Cyrano de Bergerac, where Cyrano helps another person express themselves through carefully crafted words. Syrano reimagines that story as a metaphor for AI-assisted content creation—helping brands communicate more effectively while preserving their own voice and identity. This narrative became the foundation for the illustration style and visual language.

Illustration Process
The illustration series follows the narrative of Cyrano de Bergerac, with each of the five scenes translating a pivotal moment from the play into Syrano's visual language. Every illustration was paired with a corresponding quote and designed as a single-line drawing, creating a cohesive system that reflected both the simplicity of the brand identity and the timeless nature of the original story.
I chose a continuous line illustration style because it communicates complex ideas with clarity while leaving room for interpretation. The minimal approach also complements Syrano's logo and reinforces the brand's emphasis on simplicity, guidance, and thoughtful communication.
Brand Pattern
The brand pattern extends Syrano's visual identity by combining key elements from both the logo and the brand story into a cohesive graphic system. Motifs such as Cyrano's signature nose and mustache reference the literary inspiration behind the brand, while the pen and speech bubble symbolize Syrano's role in helping brands communicate more effectively. The signature yellow circle, derived from the logo, reinforces the brand identity and ties the individual elements together into a flexible pattern.
