TYPE & IMAGE, PUBLICATION DESIGN

‘35 MM’ Zine

My 35 MM zine was a self-made 30 day design challenge exploring the relationship between type and image, completing one deliverable or element per day for 30 days. I created a collection of spreads utilizing my personal film photography with an assortment of typography and color. All of the titles are songs that correlate to the image in some manner—the common thread throughout the series.

Each page and/or spread is unique and can stand alone. Outside of the song theme, the spreads are intentionally unconnected. Allowing elements on one page to knowingly not match other pages let me to explore type, image, and color in a whole new light without limitations. This zine let me immerse myself in the creative process and observe how my design choices varied day by day.
